About two decades ago it was thought that malaria had been eradicated from India. However, recently, there has been a resurgence of this disease.

Malaria spreads through a mosquito bite (female anopheles) and the common causative organisms in India is plasmodium vivax and p falciparum (malaria parasite). Malaria caused by this parasite does not cause any permanent damage. It is characterized by fever every third day, followed by rigonr or shivering and accompanied by headache and muscle pain. In some cases, there may be enlargement of the liver and spleen. The final diagnosis can be made by examining the blood for the presence of the parasite. Lately a resistant strain of plasmodium vivax and p, falciparum has erupted in some areas of India. This has made the treatment more difficult since it is resistant to usual anti-malarial drugs. How Does the Disease Progress? The malarial parasite gets injected into the bloodstream by the bite of the female anopheles mosquito and reaches the liver where it multiplies. The baby parasites are released from the liver into the bloodstream, where they enter the red blood cells (RBCs) or return to the liver. Those which enter the RBCs, grow and further multiply. This leads to distension and bursting of RBCs and releasing the toxic metabolites of these multiplied parasites, resulting in rigour and fever. The released parasite may re-enter into other RBCs to repeat the cycle of growth and multliplication, causing another attack of rigonr and fever. This new cycle in RBCs takes about 48 hours and account for the occurrence of fever and rigour every third day. Those who enter the liver may be responsible for continuance of the disease; it takes about two weeks’ time to complete the multiplication cycle. The parasites can be attacked in the RBCs or in the liver. Drugs ChloroquineThis is the drug of choice for benign tertian malaria which is usually caused by plasmodium vivax. The oral dose is 600 mg twice of chloroquine (base), followed after 6 hours by 300 mg, then 150mg twise daily, for the next two days. The other drug of this group is amodiaquine. However, some stains of P. falciparum are resistant to chloroquine. In such a situation, quinine is given intravenously. Chloroquine may cause nausea, vomiting and stomach pain. It can be given during pregnancy.MefloquineIt is used for treating an acute attack and curing malaria due to resistant strains of parasites. It should be kept reserved for only these patients of malaria, since its misuse may result in the development of mefloquine-resistant strains of the parasites. It is taken in a single dose of 1.5g. Adverse Effects: Adverse effects of mefloquine are seen in about 1 % patients. These includes irritation in the stomach, fatigue, neurological symptoms in the form of headache, dizziness, visual disturbances, vertigo, tinnitus, insomnia, restlessness, anxiety psychosis, or seizures. It can produce heart-rate irregularities when given along with digoxin, anti-depressants and propranolol.From:http://print.articlesfactory.com/articles/health/drugs-and-medicine-used-in-malaria.html

Boil or furuncle is a skin disease caused by the inflammation of hair follicles, thus resulting in the localized accumulation of pus and dead tissues.

Individual boils can cluster together and form an interconnected network of boils called carbuncles.
Keep area clean. No peroxide because it breaks skin cells (good ones too, not just the infected area). After cleaning, put very thin layer of antibiotic ointment on area with clean fingertip and cover with a bandage. Do this once a day but if it doesn’t resolve the problem do it am and pm. Many people make the mistake of touching the boil a lot when hands aren’t clean or messing about with it which will introduce more bacteria to the boil. Warm moisture compress good too but a bandage for the rest of the time will speed healing. Usual healing time about 5 days

Eat foods that are rich in vitamin A and zinc, because these nutrients aid in skin healing and repair and can help relieve boils. Good sources of vitamin A include any fruit or vegetable that has a yellow or orange colorsquash, yams, sweet potatoes and carrots. Zinc is found in oysters, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds. Vitamin A is also found in dark green leafy vegetables such as spinach and kale.

Avoiding sugar will help. Boils seems to happen when our diets consist of too much sugars in the diet.

Try putting warm moist compresses to help boils drain, which speeds healing. Gently soak the area with a warm, moist cloth several times each day. Please try never to squeeze a boil or attempt to lance it at home because this can spread the infection and make it worse.

Take a raw egg and crack it open. On the inside of the egg shell, there is a slippery lining. Peel the ling off and put on the boil. This will bring it to a head almost overnight.

Bread and milk poultice. Break bread into small pieces and moisten with milk and tie to area to draw out the infection. Bacon rind. Tie a piece of bacon rind over the boil or other infected area with the skin side of the rind on the outside. This will really draw out the infection.
From:http://print.articlesfactory.com/articles/health/treat-boils-at-your-home.html

The glycemic index is your key to weight control and a life-long health and it’s so simple to follow.

I wanted to finish this week’s posts with another discussion of the glycemic index. I have written about it in the past but want to revisit it because it is so crucial to life long health and it’s so simple.
What is the glycemic indexThe glycemic index is a measure of how fast a food spikes your blood sugar after eating it. Foods that are high in simple sugars spike your blood sugar very fast. These include anything with high-fructose corn syrup, like soda or anything with simple sugars from white flour, like white bread and white rice. Foods that are high in complex carbohydrate and fiber raise your blood sugar slowly and gently. These include fruits, vegetables and whole grain products. To learn more about specific foods visit http://www.glycemicindex.com.
Why should you care? What’s the big deal? Your body needs to maintain blood sugar in a very narrow range. If you spike your blood sugar too fast, it will over-react with a large release of insulin and cause your blood sugar to crash back down. This is why you feel very tired after a large, high-glycemic meal. The other problem is that this crash causes you to feel very hungry again because your body is trying to recover from the crash. This causes you to eat more than you need and gain weight. Have you ever felt hungry a couple hours after eating Chinese food? Well, this is why.
But the problem runs much deeper than getting tired and eating too much. After a while, your body will adjust so that you can no longer crash your blood sugar. It does this by becoming insensitive to it’s own insulin and you develop insulin resistance. What this means is that the cells in your body stop responding to insulin and stop taking up sugar out of the blood.
Insulin resistance happens first in the muscle cells, which actually need the most sugar-energy. The fat cells continue to respond and absorb most of your blood sugar. This causes increased fat storage and weight gain around the mid-section. Approximately 1 out of 4 adults in the United States are insulin resistant.
What can you do about it?If your behavior does not change, insulin resistance can progress to metabolic syndrome and type II diabetes. This puts you at dramatically increased risk for heart disease and a lot of other health problems.
All of this is preventable and even reversible if you are already there. Switching to a low glycemic diet, getting more exercise, adequate sleep and taking quality nutritional supplements all help to reverse insulin resistance and get your body back on track to health.
Be sure that this is not just an adult problem. Feeding your kids high glycemic meals is setting them up for the same fate. Today, the Center for Disease control predicts that 1 out of 3 kids will become diabetic because of our diet and lack of exercise. Please don’t send your family down this road.
If you’re looking for high quality nutritional and low-glycemic meals click on the products tab above for some great solutions.
From:http://print.articlesfactory.com/articles/health/the-glycemic-index-revisited.html

In the coming year close to a quarter of a million men in the Unite States alone will be diagnosed with prostate cancer and this article looks at the ten questions which most men are asking about this widespread and often fatal disease.

Prostate problems will affect ninety percent of all men by the time the reach the age of eighty and in all too many cases the problem will be that of prostate cancer. But just what is the prostate gland and what does it mean to be diagnosed with prostate cancer? Here we look at the ten questions which are most often asked by men who encounter prostate problems.

1. What is the prostate gland and what does it do?

The prostate gland is situated between the bladder and the rectum, partly surrounding the urethra which carries urine from the bladder out of the body, and forms part of the male reproductive system, making and storing fluid which forms part of a man’s semen. The prostate gland is about the size of a walnut in an adult.

2. What is prostate cancer?

Prostate cancer is a form of cancer which normally appears late in life and tends to be slow growing as a result of which many men, despite having prostate cancer, in fact die of other unrelated conditions. This said, prostate cancer is the second commonest form of cancer in the United States today and in 2006 some 235,000 men were diagnosed with the disease and approximately 27,000 men died from it.

3. Who is likely to contract prostate cancer?

Men in general are at risk of contracting prostate cancer although as it is an age related disease it tends to appear only from about middle-age onwards with the risk of contracting the disease increasing with age. Prostate cancer is more likely to appear in black men and where there is a family history of the disease.

4. What are the symptoms of prostate cancer?

In the early stages of the disease there are normally few if any symptoms and it is possible to suffer from prostate cancer for many years without even knowing it. When symptoms do start to appear they are likely to include such things as difficulty in urinating, the need for frequent urination (especially at the night), a poor flow or urine which tends to stop and start, painful urination, blood in the urine or semen, pain when ejaculating and pain in the lower back, hips or upper part of the thighs.

5. Are there other conditions which can mask the presence of prostate cancer?

Many older men suffer from an enlarged prostate which places pressure on both the bladder and the urethra and interferes with the flow of urine and with sexual function, producing many of the same symptoms that are seen in prostate cancer. This condition is not however cancer but is a benign condition known as benign prostatic hyperplasia, or BPH.

It is also quite common for the prostate gland to become infected and inflamed, again producing similar symptoms, and this also benign condition is known as prostatitis.

6. Is it possible to be screened for prostate cancer?

Yes, although current screening is not foolproof. The two most commonly used screening test will indicate the possibility of a developing problem, which may or may not be cancer, and point to the need for further more specific testing.

The tests currently in use are the digital rectal exam (DRE), in which a doctor carries out an investigation of the prostate gland by feeling it with a gloved finger inserted through the rectum to detect the presence of hard or lumpy areas, and a blood test used to detect the presence of a substance which is known as prostate specific antigen (PSA) and which is made by the prostate gland.

7. How reliable are present screening methods?

Neither of the current screening tests is foolproof and both can easily miss prostate cancers. However, the two tests used together can produce quite reasonable results and are certainly preferable to not screening for the condition at all. Research is currently underway to find a more accurate method of screening.

8. How is a diagnosis of prostate cancer made?

There is really only one way to confirm the presence of prostate cancer and this is by carrying out a prostate biopsy. This involves removing a number of small samples of tissue from various different parts of the prostate gland and examining these under a microscope in the laboratory.

9. How is prostate cancer treated?

If prostate cancer is localized (that is to say confined only to the prostate gland) there are at present three main forms of treatment available.

One option is to do nothing and to simply watch and wait. If this seems an odd course of action it should be borne in mind that many prostate cancers appear at a very advanced age and, as long as the cancer remains within the prostate gland and is slow growing, the best option for an elderly patient might well be to do nothing at all.

Where active treatment is carried out this will often be to either treat the prostate gland with radiation to kill the cancer cells or to simply remove the prostate gland surgically.

In cases where cancer has spread outside of the prostate gland there are a wide range of treatment options available depending on the degree of spread. This is however a complex area and beyond the scope of this short article.

10. What is the best treatment for localized prostate cancer?

This is a bit like asking ‘how long is a piece of string’ as there are a large number of factors which need to be taken into consideration, not the least of which are the patient’s own circumstances and wishes.

In the majority of cases however prostate cancer is slow growing and there is usually no need to rush into a treatment plan. This gives patients time to discuss their condition with their doctor, including taking a second or even third opinion if they wish, and also to discuss matters with their partner and family before making any decision.
From:http://print.articlesfactory.com/articles/health/the-10-most-frequently-asked-questions-about-prostate-cancer.html

Advancement in technology came as a boon for the world. However, it took away from the people living here the quality of patience. The generation of today would prefer to do anything rather than wait patiently for results. An instance of this is noticeable in regards to losing weight. Dieting and exercising give results late. But the present generation is not ready to wait that long. Understanding the mood of people scientists have come up with a miraculous diet pill called acomplia. Acomplia increases the rate with which weight is lost in conjunction with diet and physical workout.

Acomplia is not alone in the weight loss drug market. Many other drugs like Adipex, Xenical, Meridia, Ionamin, etc. are readily available to people all over the world for treatment of obesity. But often these drugs have failed to deliver. The primary reason for the failure of these drugs is their ineffectiveness or side effects. Once hyped weight loss drug Fen-phen was taken off the markets of the US for resulting in heart valve problems. A recent case has been of Meridia, which has been reported to have severe side effects.

Acomplia has drawn significant interest even before it received approval for sale. The reason for the interest is the pioneering technology that it makes use of to help lose weight. The target of acomplia is the Cannabinoid type I or CB1 receptors present in ones brain and fat cells. These receptors signal to the brain that the stomach is empty. The researchers at Sanofi-Aventis, who developed the pill, break the signal system with the use of Acomplia. Acomplia, which is the brand name of Rimonabant, blocks the CB1 receptors and thus reduces hunger pangs and cravings for nicotine- an amazing fact for the researchers itself.

The effects of acomplia diet pill can be ascertained up to now by the clinical trials that were conducted. The obese study participants reported losing 19 pounds in a period of two years by taking this drug. This implies that the patients lost around 1/5th of a pound every week. Effects of acomplia in reducing cravings for nicotine has not yet been proved and clinical trials are still going on. If this drug is proved to have positive effect on smoking cravings, it will become the most sought after drug.

Acomplia is currently available in very few countries including the UK. In UK, the drug got approval only in June of 2006. Sanofi plans to launch the drug in Denmark, Ireland, Germany, Finland and Norway during the second half of 2006. FDA has still not cleared it for sale in the US. Similarly, in Canada the drug is awaiting approval.

Breast cancer is known to be a disease that can affect women and sometimes men in rare cases. Most people are unaware of this disease and hence, unable to treat it timely. Breast cancer can occur at any age.

It is important to know about this disease if you want to be detected on time and save yourself from a lot of health and emotional problems it brings along with.

Here are some important things regarding this disease. Read and understand the information for your own health benefits.

- The part affected

In case of a breast cancer, the malignant cancer develops inside the cells that provide lining to the ducts. This can also be referred to as a ductal breast cancer. Most of the time, cancerous cells tend to develop inside the lobules. This can be referred to a type of lobular breast cancer. The cancer can also develop in other tissues of the breast.

- Risk factors

There are several risk factors for development of breast cancer. Here are some of these:

a)	Woman

Being a woman is the biggest risk factor.

b)	Early periods

Some women tend to get their period prior to the age of 12. This increases the chances of developing breast cancer.

c)	Family history

This plays an important role. Doctors usually consider sisters, mothers and daughters when analyzing family history for breast cancer detection. In case, anyone in your family gets diagnosed, it puts you at greater risk.

d)	Alcohol

If you are taking more than about two alcoholic beverages on a daily basis, you are at risk.

e)	Diet with excess fats

Make sure that you don’t have a diet that consists of high amounts of saturated fat. If you do, then there are more chances of carrying this disease. Try to avoid food that is too high in fat content. Also do not eat foods that contain poly unsaturated fat.

f)	Late pregnancy

Pregnancies after the age of 26 are risky as far as development of breast cancer is concerned.

g)	No pregnancy

Women who have never had pregnancy are also at risk of developing breast cancer.

h)	Personal history

Women with personal history of breast cancer can also develop this cancer later in their life. Hence, regular breast check ups are necessary.

- Treatment options

There are several treatment options available for people with breast cancer. If detected at an early stage, this disease can be treated easily. There are some standard treatments for this disease. One is usually advised to go for a treatment clinical trial at first. It is a type of research where new treatments are found for this disease.

Other options include surgery such as lumpectomy, partial mastectomy, Total mastectomy, modified radical mastectomy and radical mastectomy

There are other alternative treatment options such as radiation therapy, chemotherapy and hormone therapy.

Make sure that you keep yourself updated with the latest and full information on breast cancer in order to get total relief from it.

Remember that early detection is the best treatment for this disease.

Cancer is the growth of abnormal cells. These changes cells grow and they can form into small tumors. The tumors can place pressure on nerves or blood vessels or they can interfere with the function of organs – such as obstructing the intestines. Some cancers grow slowly and it can take years for them to become life threatening – however others can grow very rapidly. Cancers are named according to the type of tissue in which they occur – carcinomas, begin in the tissues of organs (these are the most common gastrointestinal cancers); lymphomas develop in the immune system, particularly in the lymph nodes; sarcomas start on the connective tissue such as muscle or bone.

Cancers can be throughout the digestive tract but the most common sites are the colon and rectum. Symptoms of cancers in the digestive tract include:

blood in the stool

difficulty in swallowing

abdominal pain

unexplained weight loss

changes in bowel habits – not related to changes in diet.

You should have any of these symptoms checked by a health professional. If cancers are detected and treated early enough the prognosis is good.

Colorectal cancers begin with changes to the intestinal lining and the development of polyps. While not all polyps become cancerous nearly all colon cancers start as polyps.

Some of the factors that increase the risk of colorectal cancer

A diet that is high in saturated fats, particularly red meat such as beef, pork and lamb and a diet that is low in fruit and vegetables.

A diet and lifestyle that increases the level of toxins in the bowel. Toxins cause problems for the body – they irritate tissues, cause cells to breakdown and mutagenic changes to occur.

Inflammatory bowel disease – ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel disease, Crohns disease all increase the risk of developing colorectal cancer.

Smoking – colorectal cancer rates are higher among smokers than non-smokers.

Polyps – nearly all colorectal cancers start as polyps.

Hereditary – if other members of your family have colorectal cancer then you are at increased risk.

Your hereditary predisposition is a factor over which you have little control but there is a lot that you can do to reduce the risks associated with colorectal cancer – as well as other cancers. Having a healthy lifestyle and reducing the toxins that you are exposed to and in particular those that you ingest will greatly assist.

One of the most important things that you can do is to have a clean colon. So then what is colon cleansing? Proper and safe colon cleansing is the process of enabling the body to remove the stored and harmful substances by re-establishing the normal balance and function of the colon and the rest of the digestive process. Only through this thorough process is the body able to begin healing and repair and only then can there be a restoration of health and vitality.

The colon performs many vital functions but one of its most important is the effective removal of toxins from the body. There are many factors that are able to interfere with this elimination process. If the process is slowed or the bacterial balance of the colon is destroyed then toxins that are ingested and are a by-product of normal digestion will be absorbed into the bloodstream. The body will attempt to eliminate then through other routes however these can become overwhelmed. When this occurs the body needs to store the toxins. These stored toxins cause damage to tissue and are the basis of many diseases. They need to be eliminated from the body. Effective colon cleansing provides a safe means for achieving the cleansing of the whole body. When the toxins are effectively removed form the colon then the risks associated with the development of colorectal and many other cancers in the body are reduced.

Discover how to properly cleanse internally to gain and maintain your health and reduce your risk of colorectal cancer with safe colon cleansing (at safecoloncleansing.com). Then get on with really enjoying life.

Acne…it affects a majority of teenagers and many adults well into middle age. It is dreaded and despaired over by many who suffer from this common skin condition. Clearing acne begins by understanding what acne really is and what triggers it. Then we will consider how it can be controlled by lifestyle choices, skin care choices and wise use of make-up.

Who suffers from it?

Teenagers struggle with acne, but so do many adults. Acne breakouts can result from fluctuating hormone levels at various stages of life, such as puberty, pregnancy or menopause. Outwardly, acne can reveal internal signs, such as poor elimination or buildup of toxins, a lack of exercise or high stress levels. Both men and women contend with acne, and as good health and beauty are intertwined, the causes of acne can reveal the solutions to managing and reducing skin breakouts.

What is it?

Acne occurs when the oil glands produce excess sebum, the skin’s own oil, which accumulates with dead skin cells to form a plug which results in a clogged skin pore. Bacteria trapped inside the pore feed of the sebum mixture, multiplying and producing agents which irritate the walls of the pore. As the immune system works to attack the bacteria, pus is formed leading to an inflamed pimple, blackhead or whitehead. Picking or squeezing a pimple can cause the pore to rupture, releasing the bacteria into the surrounding area, and can cause more pimples, cysts or scars. For many, certain areas of the skin have overactive sebaceous, or oil glands which produce excess sebum. These areas are typically the forehead, nose, cheeks and/or chin. Comedones, or blackheads, are not caused by dirt, but rather by sebum which has clogged a pore, oxidized and discoloured by melanin.

What triggers it?

Often a spotty complexion denotes a diet high in sugar or saturated fats found in fried foods, refined or processed foods. Conversely, a diet low in fat may lack essential fatty acids, and can also affect the appearance of the skin. Breakouts can reveal toxin buildup, resulting from constipation, kidney or lymphatic problems. Other triggers include a polluted, dry environment, and seasonal climate changes. Genetics also determines whether a person will be predisposed to acne breakouts. In general, acne is caused by a combination of four main factors:	Genetics	Skin Care	Lifestyle	Emotional State

We cannot change our genetics, but we can change the other three factors to help reduce the likelihood of acne breakouts.

How can acne be controlled?

Skin needs to be cleansed, fed and nurtured. Externally, the skin benefits from a simple regimen:	Cleansing with a mild, slightly acidic and all natural soap. Other kinds of soaps can cause redness, soreness, irritation or tightness because of the harsh chemicals, colorants detergents and fragrances they are made with. Avoid any products which contain ingredients which may irritate or dry out the skin. Most often culpable ingredients are petroleum derived, synthetic or animal based.	Tone with an alcohol-free, all natural toner, since alcohol is drying to the skin and will cause the oil glands to produce more sebum. Toner also helps reduce the bacterial population on the skin, decreasing the number of bacteria which will migrate into the pores.	Moisturize with a petroleum free cream. Petroleum is comedogenic and can clog pores unnecessarily. Creams which contain natural waxes such as beeswax do not have a comedogenic effect on the pores. At night, massage a facial oil into the skin as this helps increase circulation to the surface of the skin and suppresses the oil glands from producing excess oil.	Once per week, use a gentle exfoliant to remove dead skin cells which accumulate at the surface of the pores and lead to blackheads. A mud mask used once every couple of weeks also helps draw out sebum in the pores as the clays present in the mask are highly absorbent.

Internally, the skin is fed and cleansed by a diet rich in fresh fruits, whole grains and vegetables. These foods provide more water, nutrients and fibre into the diet and can make a remarkable difference in the appearance of the skin. Relaxation, adequate sleep, exercise and stress reduction also play an important role in keeping the skin clear and healthy as they assist the body to repair and detoxify itself.

Seasonal or climate changes, such as winter and humid summers in addition to dry, polluted environments also contribute to acne breakouts by drying out or irritating the skin. As the skin is exposed to dry temperatures moisture is lost through the skin, triggering the oil glands to produce more sebum. Keeping the skin clean and moisturized is essential to preventing the pores from becoming clogged with excess sebum. In humid conditions, the skin loses moisture through sweat and evaporation, triggering the same process which can lead to breakouts. Moisturizing and regular cleansing in dry, humid or polluted conditions can reduce the onset of acne.

Makeup can also trigger breakouts. If they contain comedogenic ingredients, such as those derived from petroleum, they may contribute to acne despite a clean and healthy skin regimen or lifestyle. Choose all natural makeup which is in harmony with the rest of your skin care regimen and less likely to contribute to breakouts.

Acne treatments which contain salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide worsen acne, as these are skin irritants and very drying. Tea tree essential oil is a natural alternative, and works by sterilizing the infected area upon contact without damaging the surrounding skin cells. It can also prevent microbial growth in that area for hours. Other treatments for acne include hydrocortisone which thins the skin over time, or antibiotics which can contribute to microbial resistance in the long term. Hormone treatments work by decreasing testosterone levels in the body, since this is the hormone responsible for sebum production. There are natural alternatives to aid in controlling acne, such as tea tree, lemon and juniper berry essential oils. These are effective and much safer to use for treating acne.

Acne can be a source of frustration for many. Much can be done, however to minimize the occurrence of breakouts thereby reducing the impact of acne on our lives. Making healthy adjustments to our diet, lifestyle and skin care product choices can lead to clearer, more radiant and healthy skin, free at last from acne.

New research findings show that extra body fat doesn’t just weigh you down. Scientists now have evidence that too many fat cells prompt ongoing reactions in the body that may increase cancer risk.

A recent study in the Department of Epidemiology at Johns Hopkins University found excess fat may alter the body’s basic functioning in ways that raise risk for cancer and other diseases.Research had already shown that obesity boosts levels of hormones such as estrogen, for example, which increase risk for breast cancer in post-menopausal women. Too much body fat, especially in the abdomen, also increases insulin resistance, priming the body for diabetes. Now, recent findings suggest that fat deposits especially around the waist, may influence the body’s inflammatory response so that risk for colon cancer is higher.Inflammation is the body’s first response to infection or injury. It’s essential to healing, but it can go the other way. Researchers now suspect that chronic low-level inflammation of body tissues underlies a lot of disease processes. How does this happen? There are substances called cytokines that are part of the body’s inflammation response to help with fighting infection and healing wounds. Cytokines are made by white blood cells, but fat cells can make cytokines too. These substances also help with wound repair by stimulating tissue growth. Research suggests that when the body has an oversupply of fat cells, those cells release too many cytokines. This boosts the body’s inflammatory response and causes damage to cells and their DNA.”Where there is genetic damage plus stimulation for cells to grow, the chance of cells growing out of control and becoming cancer is increased. We all have cancer in our body at all times. The role of the immune system is to fight those cancer cells. However, when the immune system is working overtime dealing with the cleaning out of the fat in the system, it doesnt have enough resources to fight the cancer cells. A previous study showed that people who were obese, 30% over their normal body weight had a higher risk of colon cancer. People who were diabetic had increased risk. Some cancers are known to be associated with persistent inflammation that’s related to chronic infection. For example, people infected with one of the viruses that cause hepatitis are more susceptible to liver cancer. People with inflammatory bowel disease have above-average rates of colon cancer. The idea that fat cells could be actively involved in promoting inflammation is a relatively new one. “There is more to being fat than carrying around excess weight. People should begin thinking of excess body fat as actively harmful to their health.” When you study the human body, even as remotely as the way it is taught in schools, it stands to reason that excess fat is not a natural condition for the body. Excess fat will strain all the systems, being digestive, respiratory, the skeleton, etc.

The good news is that excess weight can be managed. Even walking every day as little as outside of the house and around the block, is a great starting point to healing, by sending a message of health to the brain and the body.

To learn more about the power of the mind to heal the body and many stories of spontaneous healing, visit http://cancer-free-for-life.com to download your ebook immediately.
